A Note to Researchers

Unfortunately, the Holland Land Office Museum is not a research facility. The museum collaborates with the Genesee county History Department and utilizes their archives for research. The History Department's hours are Monday through Wednesday, 9 AM to 4:30 PM. They can be contacted at the following: Genesee County History Department, 3 West Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020, (585) 344-2550, ext. 2613.

Also, the museum does not own any of the Holland Land Company's papers or record books. The originals are in the Municipal Archives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. (website for the Gemeentearchief.) Microfilm copies are available at Reed Library, State University of New York at Fredonia.
