Mr. Ellingham, a County resident for over forty years, began creating landscapes and pen and ink drawings almost thirty years ago. He has a degree in art from Genesee Community College.
Richard has been a member of the Batavia Society of Artists since 2001, and has served on its Board of Directors since 2003. His artwork has won several awards. His painting Tranquil Path has won numerous honors, including an award from the local Red Hat Society, and Best of Show at the Winter 2004 Batavia Society of Artist Show. His painting Adirondack Trail won for best oil painting at the same show. After the double win, the Batavia Daily News featured an article about him.
Richard has been commissioned by several places including The Landing, an assisted care facility in Brockport, NY. He has artwork on display in numerous businesses and doctor’s offices throughout Genesee County.
