Don Grieger began painting in the 1970's and is self-taught. He works primarily in oil and specializes in landscapes. His paintings have been entered in many regional and national juried exhibitions over the years and are frequent award winners.

He exhibits regularly at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, and in the annual invitational show at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, Vermont. He has had many individual and group shows. He also paints and exhibits with "The All Weather Gang," a group of six plain air painters from Western New York. His works hang in corporate, public, and private collections in thirty-five states, Canada, Europe, South America, and Australia.
