A lifelong Genesee County resident, Kevin's artistic career began after his graduation from Cornell University with a degree in General Agriculture. In 1981, he began to study art from John Peisley, as well as studying in England, Scotland, and France.
In 1994, Kevin began to paint full-time. Since then, his works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions. From these shows, he has received a number of awards, including the People's Choice Award for the Chautauqua Institute (1995) and the Jane Peterson Award from the Salmagundi Club's Annual Exhibition in 1997.
Kevin has an admiration for nature that shows in his work. Painting in a tonalist fashion, he uses subdued light, low contrast, and corresponding color schemes that create depth through a single hue of color.
