Route 20 & Route 77

Darien Center was originally called King’s Corners after early settler, Stephen King. King was the first postmaster. He later ran a store and in 1808 built the first inn.

There was an Episcopal Methodist Church, school, hotel, several small stores and industries and about 50 dwellings.
