Hamlet of Darien City
Broadway & Route 238

Darien City is located at the intersection of Route 20 and Route 238. According to local legend, Darien City received its name from an eccentric individual when there were only a few house built he said, “I must be in Darien City.”
Orange Carter settled near there in 1803, Stephen Parker kept the first inn in 1808, and there were also blacksmiths, carriage shop, saw and feed mills, and a wagon shop.
