The Holland Land Office Museum

The Holland Land Office Museum is a non-profit educational organization committed to preserving, interpreting, and promoting an interest in Genesee County, New York.

HOURS:

Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

From Thanksgiving to New Years, we are open Sundays 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The Life and Times of Joseph Ellicott
Resident-Agent Joseph Ellicott is considered the single most influential individual to have lived in Western New York during the pioneer era. Joseph Ellicott, and his land office, were an integral cog in the economic machine of the Holland Land Company and were responsible for the settlement of roughly 3.5 million acres of land. William Coon's Fireside Chats
Written circa 1941, the recently recovered "Fireside Chats" by William Coon, along with other documents, are now available in pdf format for your own curiosity or academic research. As legal counsel to the Tonawanda Band of Seneca Indians, and once County Historian, Coon wrote prolifically on the Seneca and the history of the Holland Land Company. enjoy
