Oatka Creek near Gilbert, Cole, & Bernd Roads

Jug City (or Tuft’s Mills and Southbridge) is located along the Oatka Creek near the junction of Gilbert Street Road, Cole Road, and Bernd Road. During the first half of the 1800s, a dam was built to provide power to a gristmill and saw mill. Its name came from a local potter who made meat crocks, jugs, and other household items.
