Route 237 & Freeman Road

South Byron is located two miles south of Byron Center along the New York Central Track. Throughout its history, there was a grain elevator, store, hotel, two churches, and post office. It was originally called Brusselville because early settler Elijah Shumway had a “brussel head.”
