THE SUMMER PROGRAM IS SPONSORED BY:

Program 1: Pioneers of Electricity
July 8th, 1:00pm-3:00pm     Cost: $4.00
Edison, Tesla, Bell; what do these gentlemen have in common? They all worked with electricity and invented things we use in everyday life. Join us as we learn about these remarkable gentlemen and other pioneers of electricity.

Program 2: Niagara Power Project
July 10th, 10:00am-3:00pm     Cost: $5.00
We will be traveling to the Niagara Power Project, and experience this wonder of science first hand. Please bring a brown bag lunch, since we will be having lunch there.

Program 3: The Immigrants : Italians in Genesee County
July 13th, 1:00pm-3:00pm      Cost: $4.00
Join us as we start a new series that will feature the immigrants of Genesee County, and their contributions to the growth and history of our county. In this first program we will learn about the Italian immigrants to the county.

Program 4: Newsmakers of Western New York
July 15th, 1:00pm-3:00pm   Cost: $4.00
Who are the newsmakers of Western New York? This program examines some of the events and people of the area who made national headlines and brought the national spotlight to Western New York.

Program 5: The Buffalo Museum of Science
July 17th. 10:00am-3:00pm    Cost: $5.00
For this program we will be traveling to the Buffalo Museum of Science. Join us as we explore the natural history of Western New York. Please pack a brown bag lunch, since we will be eating there.

Program 6: Conservation & Recycling
July 21st, 10:00am-12:00pm   Cost: $4.00
Join us as Peggy Grayson, Recycling Administrator for GLOW, comes in and talks to us about conservation, recycling and taking care of our environment.

Program 7: The Iroquois Refuge
July 23rd, 11:00am-3:00pm    Cost:$5.00
We will be traveling to one of the natural wonders in Genesee County, and exploring its natural beauty. Featuring a presentation and hike, please come prepared to be spending the day outdoors. Also, bring a brown bag lunch since we will be eating there.

Program 8: Notorious in Western New York
July 27th, 1:00pm-3:00pm     Cost $4.00
Mobsters, murderers, and more! These are some of the people we will be discussing, and learning about what made them notorious in Western New York.

Program 9: Gonandagan
July 29th, 10:00am-3:00pm    Cost: $5.00
Want to see an authentic Longhouse? Come with us as we travel to Gonandagan and tour a Seneca Longhouse, and learn about Seneca culture and traditions. Please bring a brown bag lunch for the program.

Program 10: Assassination Part One: Lincoln & Garfield
July 31st, 1:00pm-3:00pm     Cost: $4.00
Who shot these remarkable US presidents? Join us as guest speaker, Don Read, talks about these presidents and the men who killed them.

Program 11: Assassination Part Two: McKinley & Kennedy
August 4th, 10:00am-12:00pm  Cost: $4.00
Ask people who were born in the 1950s where they were when Kennedy was killed and they know exactly. And President McKinley was shot in Buffalo. Come and learn about the men who killed these presidents, and what led up to their assassinations.

Program 12: George Eastman House
August 6th, 10:00-3:00pm    Cost: $6.00
Join us as we tour the home of George Eastman, founder of the Eastman Kodak Company. Please bring a brown bag lunch.

Program 13: The Day that Lives in Infamy: Pearl Harbor
August 10th, 1:00pm-3:00pm   Cost: $4.00
December 7th, 1941 is a day that is burned into a whole generation’s memory. Join us as we learn about Pearl Harbor, and the United States’ response with Doolittle’s Raiders.

Program 14: Civil War Leaders
August 12th, 1:00-3:00pm      Cost: $4.00
Wadsworth, Martindale, Porter…..who are these men? They were leaders in the War Between the States, and were from Western New York.

Program 15: Historic Batavia Cemetery
August 14th, 1:00pm-3:00pm   Cost: $4.00
Join us as we tour the Historic Batavia Cemetery, and learn about some of our community’s founding fathers, and other notable residents. This program will meet at the cemetery.

Program 16: Geocaching Part 2: The Great Hunt
August 17th, 10:00am-1:00pm  Cost:$4.00
This will be held at Seven Springs Country Club. Join us as we go on an expanded scavenger hunt using GPS coordinates. Please bring a brown bag lunch, and come prepared to be spending the day outside.

After registering the Museum will send out an invoice.
